Does it matter what role you play whether your're not from that race/culture? First of all the performing arts world is very diverse and consists of different talent from All over the world, from America, to Asia, Africa and many other countries. However within the film industry Roles are often given to actors/actresses who fit the character criteria this is a very important part of the process, however one of the main points in the criteria are often race, culture, ethnicity or background. Due to this some actors/actresses are often restricted from being able to perform that certain role just because of their ethnicity or background even though they have everything else the director is looking for.
